5 Ways to Make a Difference

April 15, 2016

There is no more important investment we can make than in helping girls realize — and share — their full potential.

Grape Juice, an annual charity wine auction in support of Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland, makes a difference in the lives of young girls facing adversity. Started in 2007 by founding sponsors MLA Canada and McNeill Nakamoto Recruitment Group, Grape Juice has raised over $514,000 towards Big Sisters’ mentoring programs.

If you are passionate about helping girls build a positive self-image, here are 5 ways you can get involved and make a huge impact on a girl’s future:

  1. SOLD OUT! Buy a ticket to the Grape Juice Wine Auction on April 21st, 2016 at the Aston Martin and Bentley Vancouver showroom.
  2. WINE DONATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED Donate a bottle of wine to the silent auction. Purchase a bottle online through Marquis Wine Cellars and they will deliver it to the event for you.
  3. While you sip on wine from the tasting stations, browse the silent auction and bid on an outstanding selection of wines to add to, or start, your own wine cellar.
  4. Buy an arm’s length of raffle tickets for a chance to win a luxury Mountain Adventure Getaway
  5. Sponsor a Big Sister/Little mentoring match for $2,000 (you can sponsor at the event or at the Big Sisters' website)

Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland matches young girls, or “Little Sisters” with caring adult mentors or “Big Sisters”. Serving as role models, the Big Sister mentors seek to put the Little Sister they are matched with on a path to lifelong success and change the trajectories of their lives in positive ways. It is proven that when we provide education and positive role models that young girls can rely on, it benefits both society as well as the individual girls.

“To work alongside our partners and with Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland to help make this happen is an honour and we are proud to be a founding sponsor of this event and effect positive change. It truly is rewarding.” — Cameron McNeill, President of MLA Canada and co-founder of Grape Juice
