You can’t see it but you definitely can “feel” it or NOT?
You have felt it. You walk into two similar competing places of business, one steps up to the plate with enthusiasm, upbeat, alert employees who respect and support one another with a “can do” attitude. Instinctively you know they enjoy what they are doing and are having a good time doing it. You get a sense that anything is possible – you feel good. The other you “feel” an entirely different type of energy. The tension is high, people do not seem to get along, they are distracted, uninterested and you get a sense that no one wants to be there – including you.
It is important to realize that each individual regardless of their position within an organization plays a significant role in the overall energy force contributing positive or negative energy to the collective energy in the workplace. At MAC we often are building sales teams to work alongside our internal office staff. Each person may have different strengths and weaknesses and play a different ‘role’ on the team but everyone must have a positive, hard working, team oriented attitude.
Do you promote and exude positive energy or are you contributing negative energy? How you contribute to your professional environment is as important as what you contribute.
Positive energy flow is vital to the long term growth of any establishment. Be aware that negative energy can contaminate an entire establishment – all it takes is one individual.
A customer will not remember all the words you have spoken but will remember the “feeling” you created.
