The 19th Annual Georgie Awards

March 9, 2010

This Saturday, March 13, 2010 marks the 19th Annual Canadian Home Builders’ Association of BC Georgie Awards Celebration. Perhaps most fittingly they are about a week after the Oscars as the Georgie Awards are the Oscars of the home building industry in BC (the award even resembles the golden Oscar). The celebration allows for recognition of some of the exciting work being done by BC home builders in various categories such as renovations, landscaping, interior design, sustainability, customer choice, residential communities, marketing, sales and more. In total, there are 47 categories spanning various disciplines all within the home building industry.

In the past, MAC Marketing Solutions has been honoured with approximately 47 nominations and 14 category wins. This year, MAC Marketing Solutions in conjunction with Cressey Development Group has 8 nominations including Best Marketing Campaign and 2 nominations in the Best Salesperson category. Cressey Development Group, a long standing client of MAC Marketing Solutions, has an additional 9 nominations including Residential Community of the Year, Best Townhouse Development, Best Multi-Family Low Rise Development and Best Multi-Family High Rise Development.

One of the nominations for Best Multi-Family High Rise Development is for a community called Donovan which won Best Marketing Campaign of the Year and Best Website in 2007. It’s great to see the nominations come full circle first for the marketing and sales of the community which occurred a few years ago and now for the completion of the community. This project is one near and dear to my heart as I actively worked on this project. It was especially exciting as a marketer because we did a very cool, viral, 5 part mini-series to help raise awareness of the community. We have posted the mini-series on our You Tube channel which you can view here.

This Saturday we’ll be crossing our fingers in hopes of at least a few wins! Wish us luck and we will let you know how we did!
