Residential developments offer an exciting home experience, not only are you investing in your living space but have the option for interior and exterior building amenities. A project’s amenity inspirations come from first understanding the property location, neighbourhood amenities, and who will ultimately live there. Along with the developer and project team, we enjoy designing shared spaces to ensure the best experience and see this as an extension of your home.

As a home seeker, think about your lifestyle and what you want your living experience to be, both in-building and outdoor preferences. Some owners may choose a property with minimal amenity space, while others are excited to have a shared social lounge or rooftop to entertain friends and family.

If you like to entertain large groups perhaps you would be more amenable to a building with shared indoor or outdoor lounge spaces with a kitchen, fire pit or barbeque. Some projects will include a games rooms, large screen TV's, karaoke room or pools to host your friends and families. Kings Crossing by Cressey even included a mini amphitheatre as part of their clubhouse offering supplementing their fitness facility with squash and sports court.

For outdoor areas, look at the proposed landscape plans and what would appeal to you from relaxing seating areas, tranquil water elements to botanical features that will enhance the surrounding space. Sometimes this can be paired with an indoor steam and sauna for relaxation and wellness.

There are also buildings that cater to pet owners with extras such as a wash station or dog run for immediate access to outdoor space just steps from your door. This is especially beneficial during the city’s wetter and colder months.

For those with families, an on-site play structure, grassy area or nearby park provides a fun environment and learning opportunities for kids whether developing their physical skills or improving their social interaction with others.

We are also seeing a growing trend towards private storage garages for sports equipment and a maintenance room. The storage garages are gaining in popularity and allows owners to securely store their high-valued items such as bikes, skies, or hockey gear. A dedicated maintenance area is perfect for the sports enthusiast to use as a service station to tune-up or fix a mountain bike or snowboard.

When visiting a presentation centre ask the sales representative to give you a full rundown of the amenities offered and consider how those amenities could possibly eliminate membership costs or simply add enjoyment and convenience to your lifestyle.
