Vancouver Spring Market Highly Active

May 17, 2011

Wow – The spring market in Metro Vancouver is surging forward into late spring and early summer! Just this past weekend alone there were 14 new project openings throughout Metro Vancouver, consisting of all product types: high-rise, low-rise and townhomes in new construction.

Despite our unseasonable Vancouver weather conditions this spring, all of our Presentation Centres throughout the lower mainland are reporting a steady number of visitors who are purchasing now or looking to buy in the near future. The majority of buyers this spring include “end-users” and ethnic investors, particularly in the Vancouver and Burnaby submarkets.

In the first half of 2011 we have seen strong interest, and in some cases line-up situations starting several days before the doors open. As in the case of a recent MAC project opening called “Union” in Burnaby Heights, we witnessed many prospective purchasers lining up in the early morning hours to ensure they had first opportunity to choose the home they wanted, and all but five homes were quickly purchased on opening day.

In other areas we are seeing a very healthy and balanced stream of buyers - all great signs that Metro Vancouver’s housing market is robust and promising more activity for summer and fall.

Don’t forget that for the latest in new MAC communities, sign up for our e-newsletter or check us out on Twitter or Facebook.
