We’ve scoured high and low and here are our top rated trends for the home for 2011:
Get Organized!
People are looking for design combined with functionality. If you’re anything like me, you hate clutter (especially in a small space), and I love the idea of cabinetry that hides everything from appliances, to microwaves, even my pannini maker. Organized cabinet interiors will be a trend of increasing popularity with inserts that allow for the storage and a place for everything.

A New Twist on Color
As always, an easy way to add some color to your kitchen is through colored accessories or for the truly brave, appliances. Our neighbours across the pond are already embracing this trend by installing major appliances and cabinets in neon and jewel toned hues. We’ve seen this trend minimally in years past, but this year it looks as if it could make a major resurgence. If this look is not for you, dark woods and sleek white still seem to be favored for cabinets as do natural materials such as stones and quartzes for countertops.
Top Paint Colors
Looking to freshen up your home with a fresh coat of paint, here are our top picks:
- If your style is Classic, try Grey instead of Beige.
The neutral still reigns supreme with warm greys gaining popularity over traditional taupes and beiges.
- If you’re more Adventurous, switch up your accent color.
Modern jewel tones such as amethyst and citrine are great choices for a fresh accent color.
