People definitely are taking full advantage of the hot sunny weather and their routines and patterns are changing. Historically, real estate sales decline during the summer holiday period (mainly July and August).
As the weather cools and rainy season nears, many of us try to fend off the winter chills by warming up our homes with cozy and comfortable home accessories.
I came across this article on VancouverSun.com entitled "There are two million reasons for high prices in Vancouver" and thought it would be worthwhile to draw attention to it. In this city, people are constantly discussing the soaring real estate costs, and rightfully so.
This weekend was my daughter’s 5th birthday party. On Saturday, we had 10 screaming 5 and 6 year old girls over. On Sunday, we had a family party including a couple close friends (20 adults and 23 kids (aged 3 to 16)).
When I told my 93 year old grandmother that I purchased a home in East Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, I thought she was going to keel over and die. “You bought WHERE?!
Take a look around as you drive through the streets of your neighbourhood and you may notice, as I did, that many people are choosing to build their own homes these days. Driving through one street, I counted 7 new single family homes under construction within 5 blocks!
In this day and age everything seems to be going “smart”… my phone, my books, my camera, my car and so on. Now I’m looking for my home to go smart too.
Having just recently returned from a trip to New York (literally, just a few hours ago) I thought I would show off some photos from some great exhibits at the Museum of Modern Art. They just so happened to be showing an exhibit called “Counter Space; design + the modern kitchen”.
